Story

Albert and Devon spend several days in a cabin in the mountains in order to explore a relationship that began as an exchange of sexually charged messages on a dating app.  Albert, a married man living a straight lifestyle, encounters the emotions of his newfound sexuality and tries to decide between his stale, heterosexual marriage and the exciting, scary, queer relationship with Devon.  Devon initially finds escape in Albert who acts as a salve for the scars of his traumatic childhood.  But Devon soon finds that Albert is so much more than the endless line of married men he uses as a coping mechanism.  As the men grow closer, the ghosts of Albert's and Devon's pasts begin to invade their minds, creating cracks in their psyches and a wedge between them, forcing them to leave the cabin and go their separate ways.

However, both of their cars seem to have stopped working and attempts to walk away from the cabin lead only to some sort of metaphysical loop, putting them right back on the property. Things only get worse when their personal ghosts materialize within the walls of the cabin. The space takes control of time and Albert and Devon soon find themselves without food, water and electricity. They have no choice but to reveal there darkest secrets in service of coming back together and working as a team.  But Devon begins to waste away forcing Albert to find an answer to this strange puzzle.  With Devon's help, Albert crosses over to "the other side" and confronts his dead uncle in hopes that he may gain the understanding needed to escape before it's too late.

Reviews

“It's overflowing with humanness and deep wells of emotional layers. It is dizzying in the best possible way, and the conclusion is heartbreaking and freeing.”
